About Premier Morphs

We have been keeping reptiles for over 20 years and met via a mutual friend when David moved to Taunton to take up his post as a Microbiologist for the Taunton and Somerset NHS Trust and needed somewhere to house part of his collection.

We became very good friends and decided to combine our collections as a business forming Premier Morphs Ltd in November 2006. We have since been breeding large numbers of Corns and Beardies specifically aimed for the pet trade market, together with rare and beautiful Pythons and Boas aimed at the private market.

Our Aims are to provide the best quality animals so that people can enjoy the hobby as much as we do. A happy customer is what we strive for.

Barrie has been the Chairman of the South Western Herpetological Society for a number of years. Now unfortunately with the popularity of internet forums and peoples busy lifestyles the society is suffering from dwindling numbers but that does not stop us from trying to keep pushing for new members, passing along the vast knowledge that the membership has to share.

Since reptiles became Barrie's career instead of his hobby he has since taken much more interest in his second love of fish keeping and breeding.  He has a particular interest in Discus and Angel fish, the kings of the aquarium. He is  a member of B.I.D.K.A (British and International Discus Keepers Association) and loves the chance to learn from the vast resources of the forum.

David's other passion is invertebrates, in particular Stick Insects, Mantids and unusual cricket species.  He takes regular field trips to Ecuador to visit friends and to find new species to establish in culture so that he can share their beauty with everyone else.   Barrie has also been converted, he had always seen insects as lizard Food until David changed his perception of them and now sees how beautiful they can be.

Our Facility

Our facility covers some 1000 sq ft in four rooms.  The units are all fully climate controlled.  Animals are housed in individual vivariums or drawer systems appropriate to their size and needs.  For vivariums we use "Herpteks" as we feel that these provide the best environment for our animals.

We breed all our own food for the snakes as we have found in the past that frozen food supplies are intermittent and not of the quality that we would like.   We feed our rodents on a commercial rodent diet and they are housed in laboratory cages or freedom breeder style racks.

We strive to provide the best possible care for our animals with the best housing and food we can provide
